Helping to develop employee confidence through Positive Leadership Workshop.
Theatre& are delighted to have picked up a regional award for Yorkshire and Humber with their partnership work with Trans-Pennine Housing.
The programme highlighted the need to safeguard vulnerable adults and children in NHS care.
Claire Sharp Bedfordshire NHS
"Safeguarding vulnerable adults and children is a subject we take incredibly seriously, we wanted to find a way to really engage with staff and drama-based training allowed us to do this. Theatre& provided a thought provoking training programme that brought the issues to life - we were able to significantly raise awareness and equip staff with an understanding of how to handle situations that may arise in the future."
Theatre& Development delivered foundation level training throughout the organisation, using award-winning drama based methodologies to bring these emotive issues to life. The training focused on the behavioural indicators that could cause concern and armed staff with the tools and knowledge to help them safeguard vulnerable patients in the future.
The results of the programme were staggering. Following the training evaluations revealed staff had a vast improvement in knowledge and understanding of this important issue.
Key findings from the event evaluations included:
- 98% of attendees stated they were ‘very confident’ or ‘confident’ in their understanding of safeguarding following the training
- 74% increase in confidence levels when delegates were asked how well they understood the reporting system for safeguarding vulnerable children
- The evaluations showed delegates had experienced a significant attitudinal change - a 54% increase in awareness
- Prior to the training 9% of staff stated their understanding of the consequences of not reporting incidents of inappropriate behaviour was 'excellent', following the training this rose to 52% - a 43% increase!
- Before the session 14% of those attending felt that they 'always' understood the indications of inappropriate behaviour towards children, post evaluations showed this to have risen to 49% of delegates.
Theatre& feel passionate about this subject and would like to work with as many organisations as we can to support this training initiative.
