It's simple – we love what we do and we want to ensure we provide the right solution for our clients each and every time. With our varied experience and skills means we bring lots of different attributes to the table. Covering human resources, learning and development, educational theatre and project management from a cross section of different industries, we have valuable and relevant business experience meaning we can provide innovative learning and communications solutions which make a real quantifiable difference at an organisational and individual level.
Our values to us are just our normal way of working – when Theatre & came about in 2005 we had strong ideas as to the type of business we wanted to be and feedback tells us we keep on achieving against these aims. Internally our team members believe in the service we provide to clients and strive to deliver no less than 100% – we enjoy our work and believe that life is genuinely too short to not enjoy the working week. We have a committed team who apply themselves professionally and enthusiastically to every project – we believe in continuous self development and our team members are encouraged to enhance their skills on-going.
What started as a "Wouldn't it be great if one day we ran our own training and communications company" discussion became a reality for the directors of Theatre & who for some time had been looking for a fresh challenge! Kath Hirst, Carol Sibbald, Dan Alexander and Russell Watters had a very clear goal for the company – to become the recognised brand for drama-based training and communications and today this remains the focus.
Kath Hirst (BA (Hons) in Business and currently studying for the MCIPD through professional development) has previous industry experience working for organisations like ASDA, Tesco and Powerhouse in senior HR and Training roles. Kath manages the day-to-day running of the business along with ensuring that the needs of our clients (both internal and external) remain number one. Kath also consults with our design team on all HR and training matters.
Carol Sibbald (Post-Grad in Management and CIPD Advanced Certificate in Learning and Development) has over 15 years experience heading up a variety of blue-chip training functions. Carol is responsible for our development and delivery team to ensure that projects from conception through to review, achieve fantastic results for our varied client base.
Dan Alexander (PRINCE2 in Project Management) heads up our Theatre & Development sales function having over 9 years experience within corporate training design and delivery. Specialising over the last 7 years within drama based training, Dan has developed successful Diversity training programmes for over 200 different organisations.
Russell Watters has been involved in educational and forum theatre since 1995 and looks after the Theatre & Learning arm of the business. He is responsible for overseeing the successful delivery of numerous regional and national educational tours on behalf of a diverse group of clients. A graduate of the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama and holding a Certificate in Training Practice and PRINCE2 Qualifications in Project Management he has an excellent understanding of what is essential to run a successful project for all the stakeholders involved – the funding organisation, the schools, parents/guardians and, most importantly, the young people in the audience.
